The Brenizer Method
August 26, 2016
So it must be pretty mind blowing to have a photography technique named after you. The Brenizer method named after Ryan Brenizer is just that. Its basically a technique with a digital SLR that creates a look more common in a large format film camera. It enables you to get a wide format image with a very shallow depth of field. By setting everything to manual and shooting wide open, a series of 30 or so images are combined in photoshop to create a panorama. My long suffering other half and greyhound Sally were the subjects for this test shot to see how, in practice, this method works. I’m not going to attempt to teach the method as there’s plenty of tutorials online for you to hunt out for yourselves. Here’s one a reader sent to me on the Expert Photography website which is a great starting point so you can have a go yourself. Click on the image above to see the effect in all it’s glory.
