T2DTV Episode 1

It was fantastic to be asked to help launch the new Type 2 Detectives TV Channel on their YouTube page. T2DTV will feature upcoming builds, road trips, events etc. I created a simple type based logo similar to a period numberplate style and titles to use throughout each episode along with animated logos and captions. […]

I’ve been wanting to get some work in Airmighty Megascene for years. If you’ve not heard of it or had the pleasure you will have to trust me when I say the quality is superb, real coffee table journal stuff. Consistently excellent photography and layout and truly international being translated fully into 3 different languages. […]

I’m a grubby oik. I mean I am hygienic but if there’s an opportunity to get covered in grease/oil/mud/food I’m usually an unwilling participant. So much so that I could never own a car with a linen colour interior such as this gorgeous 991 C4S.  Shot for Pie Performance in Suffolk.

Almost a murmeration but more likely a kestrel, kite, or buzzard disturbing the crows. Perfect timing though.  981 cayman shot for Pie Performance. If I had to  I’d go for a black one like this. Looks great from every angle.

Ok so not strictly medicinal but it has to be said that doing something you enjoy benefits you greatly, that gentle release of serotonin, the rush of adrenaline or just bit of fresh air and a vitamin D top up from the sun on your face. Cars do it for a lot of people in […]

Viva Skegvegas VW Show!

For one reason or another this was yet again a flying visit. We seem to spend more time travelling to and from the Viva Skegvegas VW Show than we do at the show itself. Yet again it was full of the most wonderful cars and stalls, familiar faces of course. But with only a couple […]

The Beast from the East

Working for East Anglia’s premier Porsche Independent means I get to experience, in a very minor way, a LOT of Porsche cars. Way more than I post here but some get featured just because they stand out, like this Panamera. It’s Carbon Grey Metallic for a start which I’d not seen before . This waft […]

Porsche 928 GTS

I know what you’re thinking, same old car park again. Well yes back again taking photos for Pie Performance but you’ll hear no complaints from me. And it’s not same old, same old, as everyday photographing cars is different. The cars for a start, a conveyor belt of beautiful Porsche to shoot. Pretty much heaven […]

It was a pleasure to take photos of this lovely turkis and white Westfalia VW Split screen van for a good friend of mine who was selling it. It seemed to do the trick too as once the photos went up on the samba.com the enquiries started to come through. Within a couple of weeks […]

A familiar scene but with an unexpected guest as this muntjac entered the frame, then exited stage left when he realised he was in my shot. 981 Boxster shot for Pie Performance in Suffolk. Can you spot the photobombed? Check the zoomed in shot below..

MK 7.5 GTI

Mk7 Golf GTI. I have to admit I’ve not even sat in a gti since the mk4 so this was quite an eye opener. My first golf was a mk1 gti, small rear lights 1979 build. In right hand drive, the first year they were available with the steering wheel on that side. Square dash […]

The second instalment of Porsches by the Lake had finally come round on the 17th of June. An event we very much enjoyed last year which you can read about elsewhere on this blog. The organisers had promised a bigger experience this year with more going on fully utilising the extent of the stunning grounds […]

Stunning Ferrari 575 Marinello shot for PIE Performance in Suffolk. A nice change to be shooting a couple of cars recently for PIE not from the Stuttgart stable. You may have noticed a new background too as their site development expands opening up this lovely green vista as a background to their new car park […]

BMW M4 CS

BMW M4 CS

More photos of sales cars for PIE Performance recently with this BMW M4 CS. What a beast of a car, twin turbo 3 litre, black on black on black with some really nice interior and carbon details. If you’re looking for a photographer to make your car stand out when you come to sell it, […]

Porsche 911 Garage Find

The WhatsApp message was clear… “we’ve been offered this car which has been parked up for 30 years, would you be interested in filming our journey with the car from the collection onwards?” Of course I would, yes please. It turns out the car in question is a particularly cool car, a 43k mile, right […]

Something Festive

It seemed like the perfect idea but would they go for it? I promised to be extra careful and PIE Performance were happy for me to cover this stunning 930LE in fairy lights for their Christmas promotion. The idea was that the forest green Porsche Turbo would become the tree. I mean you wouldn’t need […]

Drive with Art Film

I have tried to avoid making films from events until now. The reason being that most of the events I go to I’m there to enjoy them. If you’re there to work, especially filming more than photographing you completely miss out on that element and don’t really get the time to catch up with anyone. […]

Paul Medhurst’s stunning Porsche 924 photographed for Hayburner Magazine. I’ve had a passion for old Volkswagens and Porsche for as long as I can remember and the first magazines I used to get were a mixture of Volksworld magazine, Porsche brochures and the local free ads. This was when I was at school and then […]

There’s a few good things to come out of social media with one of the most positive being the bringing together of communities. Communities of people who share a common interest but may be from different worlds. I think the car scene in general embraces that mix of society and background experience. When it’s a […]
